Ugh this crazy thing happened. I followed someone on Twitter like a million weeks ago, and today he followed me back!!!!! It’s like a huge deal, because no one ever follows me back, and HE is followed back by like SIX people I follow who all DON’T follow me back! Imagine the pressure? I think maybe he will message me and ask me out or something????? Kind of crazy, right?
Also, I’ve been reading Twitter today and so many people have been talking about the whole thing where we turn our watches by an hour. It’s the thing we do twice a year to save energy, but I forget every year how it works. It’s like - you make it be an hour earlier when the days are longer, so you have more daylight or something and then you use less light. So because I was reading Twitter, I know it’s probably happening today, which is weird because I thought it already happened like in the beginning of the year. But now it makes sense because it’s still kind of the beginning of the year. But imagine you don’t read Twitter, like how would you even know it happens? No one told me, and I saw at least 10 people today! Also, you can’t see it in the news because they are talking about Japan. Imagine how many people don’t know this is happening???? They will be late for work on Monday. Or early? Both is kind of dumb. But they won’t be late or early, because we have so many clocks and they are all electronic. They are going to change their time on their own, and we won’t even notice. Like the cell phone and the computer clock. And the Twitter clock.
When I was a kid I had an alarm clock that was a chicken, and in the morning it made a loud chicken noise. I think I also had a frog one because there was a time when I was growing up where I decided I was old enough to wake up for school alone, and not have my mom wake me, so I needed my own alarm clock. I spent so many hours with my mom looking in every shop that had clocks and watches because I wanted the best alarm clock and the nicest and coolest!!!! It’s ironic because I felt it was a grown up thing to have your own alarm clock, and I felt like I was really mature and grown up, but at the same time I insisted it be a funny shape and make some kind of animal sound. And the alarm clock never changed it’s own time, so I always had to do it. Some kids came late to class because they didn’t know about the time change (but I think it was an excuse because I bet their moms knew and told them, such liars!). But I always knew actually, because I listened to the radio. But who really listens to the radio these days? Except everyone who has a car. Or who watches TV all day? Except for everyone in America. But if you don’t have a TV or a car, then what? Then you have to rely on Twitter. But if you don’t even have Twitter? Then you might not even know, and it just happens and then one day you look at your analogue watch or clock and you notice it’s an hour off and you are confused. Or even worse, because you might not even notice unless you know what time it is already (but if you knew, then why would you look at the clock or watch??)!! Then you’ll be late or early until you check a digital watch on your phone or something.
Or you could go through life expecting every day to be the day that’s the day the time changes.
