Every year it’s April 1st, which is famous for being “April Fools” day. People make practical jokes that are funny or bad and pretend it’s real. It’s hard to do, because everyone knows it’s April 1st and is expecting everyone to make jokes. Usually it doesn’t happen. But it’s easy to do on kids because they believe grown-up people and always forget what day it is.
One time when I was a kid, my dad made an April Fools’ joke. I was a kid, and I had just watched “Toy Story.” It was a new movie that came out on March 21st of 1996 in Austria. I watched it with my dad because it was a cool new kids movie with a special look.
On April 1st of 1996, I was a kid and it was Monday. The April Fools’ joke my dad told me was that Toy Story was such a good movie, that he heard from the news that they were making a second part of the movie!!!! I was so excited, I couldn’t wait to see the next Toy Story movie!!!! I asked my dad so many questions about it, like what will happen in the movie and what it was called, and I was excited to tell my friends in school that I was the first to know about the second part of Toy Story, which was called “Toy Story 2.” But then my dad told me that it was an April Fools’ joke - there was no new Toy Story movie!!!!
And that is the story about how my dad predicted the future.
