I like my website. I think I have the best website in the world (plus gmail and the huffingtonpost). When I make updates on my website I like telling my friends to look at my update. Sometimes they look at my website and then they say “Cool!” or they “like” it. It’s a way to say “Cool, I looked at your website and I liked it.”
I have a secret tool on my website called “Google Analytics.” It tells you how many people look at your website and what they look at, but not very much detail about the name of the person or how I know them, because the internet is anonymous. That’s on purpose, because imagine you are in love with someone and look at their website and then they would know!!! It would be the most embarrassing thing in the world. Maybe the person who owns the website would say “Oh no, this person looked at my website again! They are the most horrible person in the world and I hate them!” I am a very angry person and if someone would always look at my website every day, and I would know it, I would hate them!!! Or maybe fall in love with them. Both is not perfect.
But Google Analytics tells me how many different people look at my website. Like: maybe it’s 4. Or maybe it’s 31! It could be both. You can’t know if you don’t look!
Always when I post a link to my website, a lot of people look at my website. But they do it secretly. Today I posted my link. And 18 people looked at my website! Cool! But only one person said “Cool, your website has a cool update.” 17 people looked at my website and said nothing. Last time 37 people looked at my website, and 34 said nothing!
It is mean, and I hate people who look at my website secretly and think my website is really good, but they don’t tell me. Or if they look at my website and think it’s the worst website on the internet, but they don’t tell me. It’s mean because I make an effort to make it the best or the worst website on the internet!
If you don’t tell me you looked at my website, I am going to asume you hate me! And if you hate me you are a meany!
But I don’t care as long as you keep looking at my website!
