I am movie-reviewing the movie “Eraserhead”.
This is a movie by David Lynch who is famous for having strange and creepy looking movies. It is kind of like a horror film, because it is like a nightmare. The movie is about a man who is Henry Spencer. He is a normal kind of guy and really nice, but he has hair that stand up like after an electro shock on a fence (in cartoons). He has a girlfriend, but we only find that out a few minutes into the movie. He goes to dinner at the house of his girlfriend with her parents, and they are acting really strange, and Henry is confused. Then he finds out that his girlfriend had a baby and they say it is his. He thinks that is strange because it hasn’t been nine months, but the mom tells him that the baby was born really early. Now he has to marry his girlfriend Mary.
Now I am going to talk about some “spoilers”: The baby looks really weird. It kind of looks like an alien. It looks really slimy and gross. Mary tries to feed it, but it always spits the food back out. She is really upset and angry. Henry is a bit confused but less angry because he is a really good person. The baby cries all the time, and Mary gets so angry she shouts at it to shut up (but I think it has no ears). Then she leaves Henry alone with it. Henry is sweet to it and measures its temperature. He is sick and Henry tries to care for it.
The rest of the movie, Henry has strange dreams and in the end he is really angry at the baby too, and he kills it.
The movie is good. It is black and white and it is shot on film. It looks really nice in quality, like David Lynch used a really good camera. The sounds in this movie are really scary and the rest too. Sometimes I was a bit confused. Like one time, Henry is in bed, and the person next to him wakes him up. I thought it is the baby, but he grew really big over night. But Henry doesn’t say anything about it. Maybe it was his wife. Or maybe it was just a dream.
It is also scary because the movie plays in a world that is dark and bad. It feels like stuff went really wrong and everything turned to hell and really bad. I watched 45 minutes, and then I was sleepy and I took a nap, and I had a funny dream about Henry. My favorite thing about the movie is Henry. He is so sweet. I like him so much.
Basically the movie is confusing, because why is it about a baby that looks scary? Why is the world like this? Why is Henry on “vacation”? But it is really good. It’s not a long movie, so you can watch it anyway.
